Education Qualifications Necessary for CIFA Registration

To enroll for the CIFA course and register for examinations for this course with KASNEB one needs the following education qualifications:

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination with an aggregate average of at least grade C+ (C plus) or its equivalent or
  2. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least TWO Principal passes provided that the applicant has credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) level or equivalent qualifications or
  3. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination grade C in 6 papers with C in both English and Mathematics or
  4. KASNEB technician, diploma, or professional examination certificate or
  5. A degree from a recognized university or
  6. Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by KASNEB.

Note: In addition to the education qualification aforementioned it is important for candidates that enroll for the CIFA course to have work experience in the investments or finance industry.

Other requirements for registration for the CIFA examinations include:

  • A copy of your ID card
  • Recent passport-size photos (2)
  • Copy of the ID

 Examination Sitting

CIFA examinations are held three times each year in April, August, and December. However, the examination sittings for CIFA may be changed in line with changes in the KASNEB calendar.
